Monday night was an exciting night to be a baseball fan.

The World Baseball Classic has made its triumphant return after a six-year absence and it certainly has not disappointed.

Monday night may have produced one of the most memorable WBC games of all time.

Mexico and Japan battled it out to see who would meet Team USA in the championship game on Tuesday.

Plenty of memorable moments took place.

Randy Arozarena robbed a home run with a spectacular catch, while Masataka Yoshida and Munetaka Murakami provided the heroics for Team Japan.

On Twitter, MLB Network posted a collage of photos from Monday’s game to add up the excitement and drama of it all.

Mexico jumped on top early with a three-run home run by Milwaukee Brewers star Luis Urias.

However, Japan got themselves up off the mat in the bottom of the seventh.

After Shohei Ohtani sparked a rally, Yoshida tied the game up with a three-run homer of his own.

Mexico regained the lead on hits by Alex Verdugo and Isaac Paredes, but Japan wasn’t done just yet.

After coming back to within a run, they entered the bottom of the ninth inning just three outs away from being eliminated and seeing their magical run come to an end.

However, Ohtani sparked another rally off of Giovanny Gallegos and Murakami hit one into the gap to score two runs and send Japan to the championship game.

It certainly was a night to remember.

The energy and excitement will be hard to match.
