The MLB season hasn’t started, but right now, the attention has shifted to another notable event.
The 2023 World Baseball Classic hasn’t disappointed one bit to this point.
Wednesday was a memorable day, with two Pools being defined and some shocking developments, such as the elimination of the Dominican Republic, taking place.
After the thrilling Puerto Rico – Dominican Republic game, the United States secured their place in the quarterfinals; and just several hours after that, Japan defeated Italy to return to the semifinals.
Cuba had already taken down Australia to advance to the final four.
Two quarterfinal games will be featured on our screens over the weekend.

On Friday, Puerto Rico (the runner-up in Pool D) will face Mexico, who won Pool D against the United States, Canada, Great Britain, and Colombia.
Then, on Saturday, Pool D winner Venezuela will take on its biggest challenge yet: United States, second of Pool C.
Both games will take place at loan Depot Park in Miami, Florida.
Puerto Rico and Mexico look evenly matched on paper, and both countries are looking for their first WBC trophy.
Venezuela is too, while the US team is trying to defend the title it won in 2017.
The American offense is too much to handle, but Venezuela boasts quality pitching and will probably send Pablo Lopez to the mound.
Cuba is waiting for the winner of the USA-Venezuela affair; while Japan will take on whoever comes out on top in the Puerto Rico – Mexico duel.
The WBC is better than ever, and fans will be at the edge of their seats with the weekend matchups.
