The National League East is going to be an exciting division to watch in 2023.
Last season, the Atlanta Braves and New York Mets both won 101 games, with Atlanta being given the division title by virtue of winning the season series.
However, it was the 87-win Philadelphia Phillies who got to the World Series.
The postseason was expanded to 12 teams, and the Phillies nailed down the third Wild Card spot in the NL.
Still, the NL East is full of stacked teams that are ready to do battle in 2023.
On MLB Network, reporter Siera Santos spoke with analysts Kelly Crull, Deesha Thosar, and Taryn Hatcher to break down the NL East race.

Crull spoke first, discussing the Braves and how they stack up against the rest of the division.
Crull stated that the Braves’ expectations for 2023 are exactly the same as years past.
The goal is for them to finish at the top of the NL East and compete for a World Series title, while also keeping several of their key pieces in place for a long time.
Santos then switched over to Thosar, who expressed that the Mets had similar expectations.
She also acknowledged that repeating a 101-win season will be difficult, but that an important thing to remember is that what happens from April to September doesn’t always matter as long as a team reaches the postseason.
This of course was a reference to the Mets losing their hold on the NL East and later being defeated by the San Diego Padres.
Hatcher then spoke about how the entire NL East essentially shares one goal and that the Phillies are no different as they look to bounce back from their World Series loss.
She also discussed the importance of the additions of Trea Turner and Taijuan Walker.
