We are now two weeks away from the start of the World Baseball Classic.

On Wednesday, March 8, things will get under way.

Players who have committed to play in the WBC will join their respective teams and battle it out in this legendary event to determine which country truly has the most elite talent.

Team Mexico will be an interesting team to watch.

They have a strong starting rotation, which many believe will be the key for them as they look to secure a WBC title.

Insider Jon Morosi stopped by MLB Network to discuss Team Mexico and their starting rotation, which he believes is their greatest strength.

Morosi stated that the game he is looking forward to the most is the matchup between Mexico and Team USA at Chase Field on March 12, recalling some of the success that the Mexican National Team has had against the Americans.

He then discussed Mexico’s roster, saying that this year’s team is the best and deepest roster they have ever had in WBC history, and focused on their pitching.

Their rotation features stars such as Julio Urias, Patrick Sandoval, Jose Urquidy, and Taijuan Walker.

The depth of Team Mexico’s pitching staff is what Morosi thinks will carry them in the WBC this year.

Sandoval and Urias both finished 2022 with ERAs below three.

Urias had an MLB-best 2.16 ERA.

Urquidy and Walker each had ERAs below four.

Urquidy of course has plenty of postseason experience, which should serve him well in the Classic this year.
