New York Knicks inside Mitchell Robinson has completed his recovery process and is expected to be available to return this Friday to face the Washington Wizards, as reported by the journalist from SNY Ian Begley.
Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau confirmed that Robinson completed practice this Thursday with his teammates without any setbacks or discomfort.
He ‘center’ he has been sidelined since mid-January with a broken right thumb. He underwent surgery on January 19 and then a schedule for his recovery of at least three weeks was established, which he has already exceeded.
Robinson is critical as a safe, interior retaining wall in the Knicks’ paint. In fact, he is the second-highest offensive rebounder in the NBA (4.3) behind only Steven Adams (5.1). Since his injury, the New York franchise has gone 8-7, with Robinson effectively replaced by Isaiah Hartenstein and Jericho Sims.
The Knicks currently sit sixth in the Eastern Conference with a 33-27 record, just half a game ahead of the Miami Heat. Ahead they have two games away from the Brooklyn Nets, whom they will try to hunt down after parting ways with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving during the market closing.
