The Los Angeles Angels have built a strong team around sluggers Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani and are looking to bounce back from a horrendous 2022 season which saw them lose 89 games and finish third in the AL West.
2023 is the last year that the Angels are guaranteed to have both Trout and Ohtani in the same lineup, with the latter set to hit the free agent market this coming winter.
But that hasn’t changed anything for Trout, who is now the longest tenured member of the Halos.
The three-time MVP got a chance to talk with Greg Amsinger and Dan Plesac, and discussed his mindset for the 2023 season.

Trout first talked about how grateful he was to have officially overcome his back injury that cost him significant time in 2022.
He says he was happy that he had the chance to return late in the season and finish strong.
The slugger also discussed his swing and how during his high school days, he was strictly a pull hitter, but that one of his coaches helped him make adjustments to be able to hit the ball the opposite way.
Trout was then asked about his Hall of Fame case.
He discussed how it meant a lot for him to be compared to some of the greats, but that what matters to him is his attitude when playing the game.
Trout says his mindset is that he’s the best player on the field at all times, though he jokingly admitted that it can be tough with Ohtani around to have that mindset.
