Team USA is headed to the quarterfinals.
With their 3-2 win at Chase Field over Colombia, the Americans punched their ticket to the next round of the World Baseball Classic.
The second round will be held in Miami at loan Depot Park.
Mike Trout certainly had a night to remember on Wednesday.
The Los Angeles Angels star and three-time American League MVP led the way for the defending champions, picking up three hits and driving in all three runs.
After the game, Trout spoke with Jon Morosi of MLB Network and commented on Team USA’s success and their excitement to get going in the quarterfinals.
“That’s what you play this game for. You want to be in that atmosphere, that moment, and I’m looking forward to it.” –@MikeTrout

Trout talked about the importance of taking care of business, saying that Team USA knew exactly what they needed to do on Wednesday, which was to come away with a win.
Trout praised the crowd for their energy and raved about the exciting atmosphere of the WBC.
The veteran slugger also had a key at-bat in the top of the fifth inning, facing right-hander Jasier Herrera.
Trout said he was simply looking for a pitch to drive and that when he got it, he didn’t miss it.
That turned out to be the difference in the game, as Team USA held on for a key victory.
Interestingly, this is the first time that Trout and Mookie Betts are playing together in the WBC.
The Angels slugger says that it’s truly an honor to be teammates with Betts and to compete with such talented players.
Team USA will match up with Venezuela on Saturday.
