The New York Mets can’t figure out how to string together a few wins.

With the end of June, the Mets can’t wait for this month to end.

They’ve been one of the worst teams in baseball this month, including not winning a single series.

The Mets have a 35-43 record on the season and find themselves in an unbridgeable hole in the division.

According to Anthony DiComo, the Mets are 16 games out of first place, which matches their most at any time in the last five seasons.

Most people are surprised at how poorly the Mets have played this year.

They are coming off a season in which they won 101 games and lost in the wild card round.

It seems that they have not recovered from the disappointing end of last season.

New York brought back nearly the same roster in 2023, and they even added reigning AL Cy Young winner Justin Verlander.

However, they continue to struggle both at the plate and on the field.

The Mets rank 19th in baseball in batting average and 15th in runs scored.

Additionally, his 4.62 team ERA ranks 25th in baseball.

Many of his problems result from not playing in unison.

When they pitch well they can’t hit and when they pitch well they can’t pitch.

If the Mets really want to get back in the playoff race this year, they need to make some changes.

It will be interesting to see what they do come the trade deadline.

That could play a decisive role in the direction this team is headed.
