By now, most fans know that Toronto Blue Jays starter Alek Manoah allowed 11 runs in his Florida Complex League (rookie level) start on Tuesday.

He did so by completing just 2.2 entries, and the Twitterverse exploded.

Some people offered words of comfort to the struggling starter, who was demoted a few weeks ago after he posted a 6.36 ERA with the Blye Jays, but others mocked him.

In any case, current Chicago Cubs ace and former Blue Jays Marcus Stroman offered some public support for Manoah on Twitter.

Stroman isn’t afraid to speak his mind on the social media platform, this time saying that everyone who ridiculed Manoah will “eat their words.”

“I can’t wait for Manoah to return to the MLB and make everyone eat his words. All you clowns hating on another man are just a projection of your own insecurities and life struggles. Times like these are when true athletes are transformed. Waiting for your return!” he tweeted he.

It might not be the right platform or the nicest way to get your message across, but Stroman is right on a lot of things.

Online bullying and strong personal criticism do not speak well of the person saying/doing it.

Also, it’s true that moments like this (fights) build character and force a player to improve and be the best version of themselves that they can be.

The Blue Jays hope Manoah can come back stronger than ever, and manager John Schneider even said, according to the Toronto Star’s Gregor Chisholm, that the organization is pleased with Manoah despite the ugly results.
