On Tuesday night, the Dominican Republic took it right to Team Israel, winning their game by a final of 10-0 and improving their World Baseball Classic record to 2-1.
Leading the way was San Diego Padres slugger and perennial MVP candidate Manny Machado, who picked up two hits and drove in three runs, which included a towering solo home run in the bottom of the second inning.
However, Machado was expecting a little bit more distance on the home run.
During his postgame interview with MLB insider Juan Toribio, Machado discovered that his home run flew 437 feet, which is quite far, but not as far as the slugger was expecting.
Machado jokingly replied by saying, “That’s it?”

It may not have gone as far as Machado wanted it to go, but it sure left the ballpark in a hurry.
Still, the veteran slugger was happy with the results of his big swing and says he relishes every moment that he gets to play in front of such a raucous crowd in a great baseball environment.
He said it was good to be able to put on such a great show with so many fans present from all around the world.
Machado also talked about the depth of the Dominican Republic’s lineup, which also features names such as Juan Soto, Rafael Devers, and Julio Rodriguez.
Machado praised them for their work ethic and their ability to make things happen, and he said that it was truly an honor to be able to see it all in person.
