Looking Back: Vincent Trudel At Sno*Drift – USA Informing

Vincent Trudel would place sixth overall and second in class at Sno*Drift. Find out about his experience of him at the event and more below!

What Is The Biggest Difference Between Sno*Drift And Canadian Snow Events?

Trudel would say the biggest difference between the events is the use of studded tires. For Sno*Drift drivers are prohibited from using tire studs in accordance with Michigan state laws. In the Canadian Rally Championship drivers are permitted to use tire studs. This allows drivers to have more grip, therefore allowing them to go faster. This also makes tire choice at the events much more complicated for drivers. As the wrong tire choice can end your rally in seconds. The lack of tire studs also makes the important acne of grip levels which can go from good to none in a matter of seconds even more critical.

What Was The Biggest Challenge Vincent Faced At Sno*Drift?

Vincent would say the biggest challenge at Sno*Drift was himself. As the line between good times and spending minutes in a snow bank is so thin it makes concentrating and knowledge of the car, tires and roads critical. Trudel would say Sno*Drift was the highest level of concentration he’s felt in the car yet. This level of concentration would allow him to stick to his plan by heading into the event and not do anything silly, such as spending minutes in a snow bank.

What Does Trudel Believe He Could’ve Done Differently?

Vincent Trudel believes there is nothing he would change from the event. As he believes he had just the right amount of speed on Friday night and Saturday morning’s stages. Giving them a large enough gap that would force their largest competitors, Jason Bailey and Ele Bardha to push hard if they wanted to catch Trudel. This would lead to them making mistakes and ultimately losing more time to Trudel.

When Can We Expect Trudel Back In The ARA?

As of now, Trudel doesn’t have any plans on returning to the ARA this season. As the Canadian Rally Championship remains his primary focus on him. Trudel will keep his eye on the North American Rally Cup standings throughout the season, however. If he feels like he needs more points to secure an interesting positioning within the Rally Cup he may choose to enter a US Rally. The most likely event he’ll enter is the New England Forest Rally as it’s the closest to Trudel. Therefore making it the easiest event for him to enter.

Was Trudel Happy With His Final Position In The Rally?

Vincent Trudel would place sixth overall at Sno*Drift and second in class. Trudel would be extremely happy with this result. As every car in front of him would be in a different class and much more expensive. This would also be his first time de él at Sno * Drift so his hopes de él were n’t set high heading into the event.

Did Trudel Follow His Strategy Heading Into The Event?

Trudel would use the same strategy that he used during Rally Perce-Neige earlier this month. That strategy would be to keep the car together and avoid trouble at all costs. As it doesn’t matter how good of a driver you are or how quick you are, shoveling yourself out of a snow bank won’t lead to a good result.
