Lakers trade Thomas Bryant to Denver

The Los Angeles Lakers have not said their last word in the ‘trade deadline’. The Los Angeles franchise has closed the transfer of Thomas Bryant to the Denver Nuggets in exchange for Davion Reed and three second rounds of the draft. These picks correspond to the years 2025, 2026 and 2029, according to the journalist from ESPN Adrian Wojnarowski.

Bryant’s departure comes less than a day after the Lakers closed a three-way deal with the Utah Jazz and Minnesota Timberwolves that ended with the arrival of Jarred Vanderbilt, Malik Beasley and D’Angelo Russell on California soil. Thus, the Lakers will distribute interior minutes between Vanderbilt himself and Wenyel Gabriel.

Bryant, who signed a minimum-salary contract with the Lakers in the offseason, has performed well as starting center during Anthony Davis’ absence due to injury. However, with this one on track his role has been much more modest. Adds the journalist Ramona Shelburne that Bryant was unhappy with the few minutes of him since the return of Davis. In 41 games, 25 of them starts, Bryant has averaged 12.1 points and 6.8 rebounds in 21.4 minutes.

Thus, the Nuggets incorporate the substitute of guarantees for Nikola Jokic that they so longed for and on which they had directed all their commercial efforts in recent weeks.
