Lakers, Knicks and Kings will bid for Kyle Kuzma

Trade rumors have been growing as the key date of Dec. 15 approaches, the day after which franchises can trade players they signed as free agents during the offseason.

One of the players that is arousing the most interest in the NBA is Kyle Kuzma. A week ago, the journalist from The Athletic, Shams Charania, shared that the Phoenix Suns and Atlanta Hawks had inquired about the current Washington Wizards player. Now the middle Bleacher Report add new equipment to the equation.

According to journalist Eric Pincus, the Los Angeles Lakers, New York Knicks and Sacramento Kings would be willing to bid for Kuzma. The Kings already tried to close a deal for Kuzma in 2021 before the Lakers sent him to Washington. Sacramento does not have any pick Tradeable first-round pick through 2028, but Pincus thinks they could offer a package comprised of Harrison Barnes, said pick or, instead, a youngster like Davion Mitchell. In the case of the Knicks, Obi Toppin would be the centerpiece of the operation, in addition to other pieces like Cam Reddish or Immanuel Quickley.

The gerente general of the Wizards, Tommy Sheppard, has insisted that he has the power forward as part of the future of the project. However, there is a risk that the player will pack up for another team this summer if he declines his $13 million player option for the 2023-24 season.

In fact, Pincus himself points out that Kuzma would be interested in signing a new contract of more than 20 million dollars a year. And, what is even more important, in a large market in the NBA or, conversely, in a candidate for the ring. Some expectations, the latter, that the Wizards cannot guarantee.
