The Houston Astros are entering the 2023 season with a target on their backs, having won their second World Series title in the past six years.
The team will look very much the same this year as it did last year, with most of the team’s core still intact.
The only major differences are that Jose Abreu is now manning first base and Justin Verlander is now with the New York Mets.
But that won’t determine the Astros, or their star right fielder in Kyle Tucker.
Tucker is coming off a season in which he hit 30 home runs and drove in 107 runs.
This morning, Tucker stopped by MLB Network to discuss his preparation for the 2023 season and what it’s like to prepare for a season following a World Series title.

Tucker first discussed the mindset of the club, saying that everybody is feeling good heading into spring training and is prepared to do some more damage.
He was then asked about having a shorter offseason due to winning the World Series and whether or not he changes anything in his training regimen.
Tucker hilariously replied by saying that the only difference is that there is a little bit less of a vacation after winning a title.
He also discussed that a shorter offseason is the main goal for any team, as it usually means that the previous year saw a deep postseason run.
The young outfielder and slugger then discussed his expectations for the team, saying that he and his teammates feel confident in what they have as they look to repeat as World champions.
