Knicks trade Obi Toppin to Pacers

The New York Knicks have closed the transfer of Obi Toppin to the Indiana Pacers in exchange for two future second rounds of the Draft, sources from journalist Adrian Wojnarowski confirmed.

Toppin heads to Indianapolis in search of the minutes he hasn’t gotten in the Knicks with Julius Randle as the starting power forward, and in the process allows them to create a $6.8 million salary exception to be able to make signings.

In the last few days his possible departure had been rumored, and finally this has happened. And we understand that it is something logical, since they were not considering renewing him and they need to expand other commitments such as Josh Hart or Immanuel Quickley, and perhaps the signing of Donte DiVincenzo, who has already made it clear that he will not continue in Golden State.

Selected through the 8th pick of the 2020 Draft, last season he obtained figures of 7.4 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1 assists in 15.7 minutes per day.
