Keyshawn Johnson Makes His Thoughts Clear If Jets Land Aaron Rodgers

The New York Jets showed some promise in 2022, as they started the season 6-3 and put together the NFL’s fourth-ranked defense in points and yards allowed.

They have both the Defensive Rookie of the Year in cornerback Sauce Gardner and the Offensive Rookie of the Year in wide receiver Garrett Wilson, and some feel all they need is a legitimate quarterback to become a real threat.

The Jets have been heavily recruiting Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, and some feel they’re the favorite to land him if he does indeed leave Green Bay.

Former New York star wideout Keyshawn Johnson made a bold proclamation on ESPN when he said that Rodgers would make the Jets the favorite in the AFC East while becoming the best QB in the division, ahead of even the Buffalo Bills’ Josh Allen.

Rodgers is 39 years old, and his production dipped in 2022, although that may be attributable to the departure of star wideout Davante Adams and the Packers’ anemic collection of skill players.

The Jets have an anemic running game, but their defense would take lots of pressure off an aging Rodgers, and the addition or emergence of one more threat at either wide receiver or running back would lift their ceiling.

However, the Bills are a monster in the AFC East.

They entered the 2022 campaign as the consensus favorite in the conference, while Allen was the favorite in the minds of many to win the league MVP award.

Neither panned out, but it will be difficult for any team in the AFC not named the Kansas City Chiefs or Cincinnati Bengals to outperform Buffalo.
