Kevin Love could be the ‘final touch’ of the Suns

The Phoenix Suns are among the teams interested in Kevin Love since his contract was made official. ‘buyout’ with the Cleveland Cavaliers, as shared by the journalist from ESPNBrian Windhorst.

Love was a teammate of what is now Suns president of basketball operations James Jones when the Cavaliers won the 2016 ring, so there is a connection between player and organization. The power forward also shared a dressing room with Kevin Durant, the star addition of the Arizona team at the market closing, and Chris Paul during the participation of the US team in the 2012 London Olympics.

Currently the Suns have a free space in the roster and the exceptions biennial and mid-level available, so they could offer the veteran player a contract above the minimum salary if they wish.

According to Windhorst, Love requested to be released due to his recent lack of minutes. The Ohio franchise did not welcome the request, but the 9-3 record achieved after the interior was removed from the rotation has made the outcome easier. The Miami Heat have also shown great interest in signing Love, but the Cavaliers wouldn’t be too keen on bolstering a direct playoff rival, so they could trade Love to join a Western Conference team.
