After a surprisingly successful 2022 season, the Cleveland Guardians are prepared to continue their journey and find a way back to the postseason in 2023.
The front office made a few key additions to improve the club for 2023, signing veteran catcher Mike Zunino and first baseman Josh Bell.
Bell provides some extra power in the middle of the lineup for the defending AL Central champs.
But the Guardians are also now more experienced and understand what it takes to reach the postseason.
On Sunday, Jose Ramirez got a chance to speak with MLB Network and he discussed the addition of Bell and what the team’s expectations are this season as they hope to build off of their 2022 success.

Ramirez talked about the team’s young core and all the young players that impacted them last season.
He believes that with more experience, the sky is the limit for some of these young stars.
He also discussed the new additions that the team made to improve their ballclub after falling short in the ALDS against the New York Yankees.
Ramirez focused specifically on Bell and talked about what he could bring to the table.
He says that so far, he has been very impressed with Bell and his work ethic and enjoys watching him hit.
Ramirez praised his new teammate for being able to hit the ball hard and make things happen, and predicted that he will have a big year for the Guardians in 2023.
Bell will most likely hit directly behind Ramirez in the Guardians lineup.
