Jorge Soler is somebody who has tremendous power at the plate and can hit some big home runs.

His biggest home run came in Game 6 of the 2021 World Series when he was with the Atlanta Braves.

Now with the Miami Marlins, Soler continues to show off his power.

On Wednesday, the Marlins squared off against the defending National League champion Philadelphia Phillies.

Miami defeated the Phillies by a final score of 3-2.

One of the key moments in the game came in the top of the eighth inning.

The Marlins found themselves trailing by a run in the top of the eighth when Soler stepped up to the plate to lead things off against Phillies left-hander Jose Alvarado.

On a 2-1 fastball that reached 100 mph, Soler let it fly and tied the game at two.

This ball got out of Citizens Bank Park very quickly.

Alvarado certainly throws hard and did his best to fool Soler with his high velocity.

Unfortunately, for Alvarado and the Phillies, Soler was having none of it and took a big swing on the 2-1 fastball.

The ball snuck out, but it was a solid line drive and it was just enough to tie things up for the Marlins.

Miami took the lead in the top of the 10th inning on a base-hit by Bryan De La Cruz, and pitcher AJ Puk finished off the Phillies in the bottom half.

The Marlins improved to 6-7 on the season.

But none of it would have been possible without Soler’s game-tying blast in the eighth.
