The St. Louis Cardinals’ early season struggles persisted on Sunday as they fell 6-1 to the Milwaukee Brewers and dropped to four games back of first place.

But one player is enjoying a solid start to the season.

Rookie sensation Jordan Walker is off to a hot start.

On Sunday, he singled out to provide St. Louis with its only run of the game.

He also ran his hit streak up to nine games.

The 20-year-old has joined some elite company as well.

Walker joined Eddie Murphy and Ted Williams as the third player age 20 or younger to begin his MLB career with a nine-game hit streak.

While the Cardinals haven’t been firing on all cylinders as a team, Walker has been performing quite well.

On Saturday, he hit his second career home run as the team blew out the Brewers by a final of 6-0.

On Sunday, he continued his hot streak and joined some historic company.

And so, despite the Cardinals’ 3-6 start, the team can take solace in the fact that Walker has remained hot at the plate and is still producing.

Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about the rest of the lineup, which stranded the bases loaded in the top of the eighth on Sunday, despite starting the rally with nobody out.

The team will head to Denver to begin a three-game series with the Colorado Rockies and will look to right the ship.
