Jordan Walker is Major League Baseball’s latest rookie sensation.

Along with Anthony Volpe of the New York Yankees, Walker has been grabbing headlines.

And while the St. Louis Cardinals are off to a bit of a rough start, things aren’t all gloom and doom in the Gateway City.

In fact, Walker has made sure of that and has gotten himself off to a very hot start.

The 20-year-old is hitting for a pure .333 average and has an OPS of .902.

In fact, he’s leading all MLB rookies in hits with eight and his average is third among MLB rookies.

On Twitter, John Denton of MLB.com pointed out just how hot Walker has been to start the season.

Walker could turn out to be the missing piece that the Cardinals offense needed.

Since Opening Day, he has accomplished quite a bit.

On that day, he picked up his first career hit.

Two days later, he drove in his first run and stole his first base.

He had his first extra-base hit on Sunday before going quiet for the first two games of St. Louis’ series with the Atlanta Braves.

However, he picked himself up off the mat on Wednesday and hit his first Major League home run.

Though the Cardinals were swept, he provided all the offense and added an RBI double in the bottom of the ninth inning.

Cardinals fans are certainly excited to see what Walker has in store, and the Cardinals themselves are reaping the benefits of having such a talented young star.
