In light of the St. Louis Cardinals being swept by the Atlanta Braves in a three-game series before heading to face the Milwaukee Brewers, there was at least one good moment to take away from it all.

Top prospect Jordan Walker, who made the Opening Day roster after a strong spring training, experienced a moment he’ll never forget on Wednesday.

With the Cardinals trailing Atlanta 5-0 in the bottom of the seventh, the rookie slugger took a big swing and sent one over the left field wall for his first career home run.

The home run breathed some life into the crowd as they cheered for their new star.

This is a moment Walker will never forget.

It certainly wasn’t a great homestand for the Cardinals, but Walker gave the fans a little something to cheer about on Wednesday.

And he got to do it in front of the loyal fans in St. Louis.

What made it even more special is that he did it against his old hometown team.

Walker is a Georgia native and grew up cheering for the Braves.

After his return to the dugout, he gave the fans a nice curtain call, which is common after a Cardinals player hits a home run at Busch Stadium.

But for Walker, it was special.

It was the first time he got to experience such a moment.

Walker drove in the team’s second run in the bottom of the ninth to put them within 5-2.

However, that was the only offense St. Louis could muster as they suffered their first home sweep since August of 2021, which also came at the hands of the Braves.
