Despite the struggles of the St. Louis Cardinals, rookie sensation Jordan Walker has been off to a fast start in 2023, having picked up at least one hit in each of his first 10 games.
The Cardinals fell to the Colorado Rockies by a final score of 7-4 on Monday and dropped to 3-7 on the season.
But Walker remained hot and extended his hit streak to 10 games.
With a hit on Sunday, he had joined Eddie Murphy and Ted Williams in elite company as just the third player age 20 or younger to start his career with a hit streak of nine games or better.
On Monday, he racked up another hit and has made Cardinals history in the process.
Jordan Walker begins his career with a 10-game hitting streak! This is the longest hit streak to begin a career in @Cardinals franchise history.

With the sudden disappearance of the Cardinals’ offensive production, Walker has certainly provided a bright spot for the team as they look to make improvements and rebound from their ugly start.
Walker certainly hasn’t slowed down and has remained locked in at the plate.
After a hot spring training, Walker was added to the Cardinals Opening Day roster and has drawn the start in right field in each game this season.
He has hit two home runs and has also driven in eight to start the season.
The continuation of his hit streak wasn’t enough to save the Cardinals from yet another excruciating loss, however.
He’ll look to continue that streak on Tuesday.
