Jacque Vaughn renews with the Nets

The Brooklyn Nets have announced the renewal of coach Jacque Vaughn beyond the 2023-24 season, the New York franchise announced through an official statement.

Vaughn, 48, replaced the dismissed Steve Nash at the head of the bench on November 9, and since then has a record of 32 wins and 19 losses. The Nets are currently 5th in the East (34-24) and will fight for a place in the playoffs after the respective departures in the winter market of their stars Kyrie Irving (Dallas Mavericks) and Kevin Durant (Phoenix Suns).

“Jacque has had an immediate impact on our entire organization since taking over as head coach earlier in the season,” manager Sean Marks said. “On the court he has clearly demonstrated his leadership through his ability to connect and communicate, at the same time that he has shown tremendous flair for the game. As a person there is no one better than him. His character is unbeatable and there is no better person to represent our team and our principles. We are delighted to have him at the helm for years to come,” he added.
