It hasn’t taken long for the Brooklyn Nets to clear up doubts about the future of their bench. Barely an hour after the consensual resignation of Steve Nash as head coach was announced, journalists Adrian Wojnarowski and Shams Charania have anticipated that Ime Udoka will become the new head coach of the team.
Udoka technically remains the Celtics coach despite being suspended for the entire season for having an inappropriate relationship with a member of the team. staff and violating the organization’s internal code of conduct. However, Boston has given the Nets permission to interview Udoka and will allow him to leave freely, according to Charania.
Thus, the Nets hope to formalize the hiring of the coach in the next 24 or 48 hours, according to Wojnarowski. Udoka had already served as Nash’s own assistant during the 2020-21 season, before taking over the Celtics, so he knows the organization and various members of the roster.
