A couple of days ago, when the Cleveland Rangers were playing in Kansas City, manager Terry Francona wasn’t feeling quite right before the game and had to be taken to the hospital.

It happened on Tuesday, and he actually spent the night in the hospital as a precaution.

Bench coach DeMarlo Hale was leading the team the past few games with Francona resting.

Given his long history of health, the baseball world has been concerned about Francona, one of the best at what he does and one of the most beloved characters in the game.

There was also a feeling of uncertainty about what he had.

Fortunately for him, the Guardians organization, and the fans who were concerned for his well-being, there is good news to report.

Guardians insider Mandy Bell, who closely follows the team’s every move, reported Friday morning that Francona would return to the dugout for Friday’s game against the Chicago Cubs.

It’s an early game, too, so fans will be able to see Tito back on the bench and in good spirits.

The Guardians are in first place in the AL Central, tied with the Minnesota Twins.

However, they have a mediocre 39-41 record, so they need all the contributions they can get from everyone in the organization, especially Francona.

The former World Series champion and Manager of the Year award winner is known for making the best of the roster at his disposal, proving time and time again that he’s the right man to lead the Guardians.
