Giants Reportedly Meeting With A Top Receiver Prospect

The New York Giants spent the first part of their offseason locking down Daniel Jones and Saquon Barkley.

They recently added Darren Waller into the mix, who should be a key contributor as a tight end in this offense.

One key positional group that is lacking, however, is the wide receiver position.

Ahead of the NFL Draft in April, the Giants have reportedly met with a top receiving prospect, just before his Pro Day.

It appears that Brian Daboll and Joe Schoen had dinner with Jaxon Smith-Njigba this week.

Smith-Njigba has been one of the most highly anticipated wide-receiving prospects over the past several years.

Many have compared his abilities to that of Justin Jefferson and Ja’Marr Chase.

Teams believe that he can make an instant impact in the NFL, which is why the Giants recently met with him.

However, the Giants don’t pick until 25th overall in April’s draft.

If the rumors are true, the Giants will likely have to trade up with another team if they want any chance of drafting Smith-Njigba.

As seen in previous years, top-end receiver talent has been going earlier and earlier in drafts.

Last year, there were six receivers taken within the first 18 picks.

Teams have been prioritizing this position in the draft, especially considering how pass-heavy of a league the NFL has become.

Will the Giants make a move, shifting positions en route to draft arguably the top receiving prospect in the class?

Ohio State’s Pro Day is here, and Smith-Njigba will have one more opportunity to showcase his skills.
