In the months leading up to the NFL Draft, Jalen Carter was widely viewed as the consensus No. 1 overall prospect.
When details of his potential involvement in a fatal car crash emerged, Carter’s draft stock plummeted, at least, in the eyes of some.
With the draft just around the corner, Carter’s NFL fate will soon be determined.
Recently, Carter sat down with HBO, providing additional details on the pre-draft process.
Per Carter, via James Palmer, “They (NFL teams) didn’t get too in-depth about the accident, they just wanted to hear my side.”

Despite the widespread news coverage of this event, Carter has been mostly quiet regarding this situation.
Until this interview, many NFL fans have only heard what the media has given them, and been in the dark regarding Carter’s side of the story.
In this interview, Carter detailed that the car crash could be a factor in the team’s evaluations of him as they finalize their draft board.
“This coming out at the time it did come out, I’m pretty sure it’s going to affect a little bit,” he said.
Carter has been one of the most discussed prospects over the last several months.
He, along with thousands of NFL fans, will be on bated breath on draft night, awaiting his landing spot.
Carter has only taken interviews and meetings with teams that are slated to pick in the top ten of the draft.
Will he be taken in that range, as so many predicted just a few months ago?
