Freddie Freeman Comments On Why The Dodgers Are Still Stacked

When Los Angeles Dodgers first baseman Freddie Freeman talks baseball, and specifically offense, we should all listen.

So, if he tells you the Dodgers’ lineup is absolutely stacked with impact hitters, then you should definitely believe him.

This is a reality even in spite of losing former MVP Cody Bellinger, Trea Turner, and Justin Turner to other teams in free agency.

The front office believed there was enough talent inside the organization to replace them.

They did bring in JD Martinez, but most of the replacements are in-house.

Here is what Freeman said about the lineup.

“Freddie Freeman believes the Dodgers still have one of the best lineups in baseball: ‘Everyone talks about losing Justin, Cody, and Trea obviously, but I still name off Mookie, Me, JD Martinez, Max Muncy, Will Smith, Chris Taylor you ‘re still naming All-Star after All-Star,’” Dodgers insider Doug McKain tweeted.

Both Freeman and Mookie Betts are former MVPs, while Martinez and Muncy have been MVP candidates in the past and are difference-makers when healthy.

Will Smith is currently one of the best hitting catchers in baseball, and Chris Taylor contributes versatility and an intriguing power-speed combo.

As if that wasn’t enough, LA also has top prospect Miguel Vargas ready to take over an infield position, likely second base.

Let’s not forget the Dodgers also have two rock-solid veterans in Trayce Thompson and David Peralta.

If they manage to resurrect Jason Heyward’s career – and the early reports are positive – they would have yet another starting-caliber outfielder.

The Dodgers might not be an 111-win team anymore, but that doesn’t mean they won’t be competitive.
