It was just a matter of time before the Baltimore Ravens and Greg Roman parted ways.
Eventually, he decided to step aside after a disappointing end to the season, even though he still had one year left on his contract.
Now, the former offensive coordinator claims that he’s going to try and stay busy, although he’s not looking forward to coaching any time soon, at least for the year.
Greg Roman is taking the 2023 season off from coaching after four years as Ravens offensive coordinator.
Roman said he will “have a hand” in high school football and a college program as well.

This doesn’t come as a surprise after he turned down the OC job with the Washington Commanders.
Roman faced plenty of criticism late last season, with RB JK Dobbins openly complaining about his lack of involvement in their playoff loss to the Cincinnati Bengals.
The Ravens were 19th in the league in scoring at just 20.6 points per game, and they were 30th in the red zone.
The fans weren’t exactly fond of Roman, either.
The Ravens finished 28th in passing offense (178.8 yards per game), granted the Ravens struggled mightily with injuries throughout the course of the whole season.
But it wasn’t all bad for Roman and the Ravens.
He did orchestrate the league’s best offense in 2019, averaging 33.2 points per game, not to mention the fact that he was the mind behind the first team in NFL history to rush for over 3,000 yards with a record-breaking 3,296 rushing-yard season.
So, we’ll see what the future holds for the running game specialist once he’s ready to come back.
