The Lamar Jackson sweepstakes continue, with no resolution between the former NFL MVP and the Baltimore Ravens, leading many to believe that a blockbuster trade could be on the horizon.
One team that has been linked to Jackson since his trade request became public knowledge is the New England Patriots.
Although the Patriots don’t usually make blockbuster moves like this, the rumors have gotten louder and louder, with even owner Robert Kraft saying it is up to longtime head coach Bill Belichick to decide if they should go after the versatile quarterback.
This got much more interesting when former Patriots star Asante Samuel took to Twitter to urge Jackson not to play for Belichick, which was quickly countered by current Patriots star and four-time Pro Bowler Matthew Judon.
Hush up. It’s different over here https://t.co/6Tos4TxwqY

Samuel fired back at Judon, claiming Belichick had brainwashed the star linebacker.
No, it not… you are just a little brain washed right now 💪🏾 https://t.co/5jvKF6KihX

During his time as Patriots head coach, Belichick has been praised and vilified by former Patriots players for how he does things in New England.
Belichick has been known to be cold and calculated while being a genius on the sidelines, which led to six Super Bowl titles won for the storied Patriots franchise.
However, Belichick can rub players the wrong way.
He tends to try to get rid of his star players before their production falls off on the football field.
This leads to mixed emotions from players and arguments on social media platforms from past and present players.
As for Jackson, it’ll be interesting to see if he ultimately ends up in New England, with many teams seemingly passing on the prospect of trading for him due to his injury history and contract demands.
