The NFL is one of the few professional sports leagues in this country where any team can win the title in any given year.
Although the league has dominant franchises like the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs or the San Francisco 49ers, which are competitive almost every year, a team can come out of nowhere like the Philadelphia Eagles last season and become a title contender.
Next season, there’s no telling which team or teams will emerge as legitimate contenders for the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
Still, one team getting some buzz is the upstart Detroit Lions, with Robert Griffin III saying to watch out for Dan Campbell’s squad.
WATCH OUT for the @Lions next year. Knew their secondary was a weakness so they signed CJGJ, Cam Sutton and Emmanuel Mosely. The sneaky good signings of WR Marvin Jones Jr and RB David Montgomery joining Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jameson Williams and Deandre Swift has Jared Goff SMILING

During the 2022 campaign, the Lions had an up-and-down season, especially right out of the gate after being on HBO’s Hard Knocks.
Fortunately for Detroit, Campbell was able to motivate and guide his team to a winning record of 9-8 but came just short of a playoff berth in the NFC.
In 2023, the Lions could easily make some noise again as the team made solid additions on both sides of the football in free agency and can continue adding pieces in the upcoming NFL Draft.
Only time will tell if the Lions are the real deal this year, but it’s safe to say that Griffin won’t be the last one backing this team, which is fueled by Campbell’s passion and commitment to winning.
One thing Detroit will have in its favor is the Green Bay Packers likely won’t be the dominant team of old, with Aaron Rodgers set to be traded to the New York Jets at some point this offseason.
The NFC North could be wide open if Goff and company can hold off the Minnesota Vikings.
