The Washington Commanders were recently believed to be sold for $6 billion.
The team was said to be purchased by Josh Harris, who is involved with two other professional sports teams.
However, after this sale was announced, another report emerged, which could put a damper on the original sale.
Brian Davis was reported to put in a $7 billion bid for the Commanders, nearly $1 billion more than Harris’.
Shawne Merriman, a former NFL player, has recently questioned the legitimacy of Davis’ bid.
BS Brian Davis doesn’t have the funds, tried to get me for 3m took his ass to court and won $4m. He owes a bunch of athletes money the other owners will never approve this. https://t.co/wuNFRdRWuf

As Merriman highlights above, Davis allegedly owes him, and several athletes money.
Merriman believes that Davis should not be able to put in a bid for the Commanders with this in mind.
The Commanders organization has undergone significant changes over the past several years.
Two separate name changes, new head coaches, and a seemingly endless revolving door of talent have plagued the team.
Coming off of the 2022 season, where the Commanders’ on-field product yielded an 8-8-1 record, fans are begging for change.
When it was reported that the team was sold to Harris, a collective sigh of relief could be heard across the globe from Commanders fans.
However, given the news of Davis’ bid, that relief has now turned into frustration.
How will the Commanders, and higher-ups within the league respond?
Davis’ bid is far from materializing, but it has caused widespread confusion, delaying the sale of the Commanders to Harris and his team.
This is a developing story and numerous updates will be provided as soon as they become available.
