The 2023 NFL Draft is less than two weeks away, with things starting to get interesting regarding teams around the league potentially considering selecting a quarterback in the first round on April 27.

The consensus right now seems to be that four or five quarterbacks could be taken in the first round of the draft, with a handful of teams jockeying for position to get the player they want to be the future face of their franchise potentially.

One of those teams is the Indianapolis Colts, a franchise that has struggled to find a successor for Andrew Luck, who shocked everyone by retiring in his prime in 2019.

Although there have been rumors about the Colts being interested in trading for superstar Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens, it seems much more likely they’ll take a quarterback at No. 4, which former NFL executive Michael Lombardi believes will be Will Levis out of Kentucky.

With less than two weeks to go, Levis is considered by most to be the fourth-best quarterback in this draft class behind Bryce Young, CJ Stroud and Anthony Richardson.

Although it is uncertain what most teams think of Richardson at this point, as some may believe he’s a bit too raw and more of a risk than the other three, Levis being the third or fourth quarterback off the board seems about right.

The Carolina Panthers own the No. 1 pick ahead of the Colts, which many believe will be Young out of Alabama.

The Houston Texans are on the clock next at No. 2, which will likely be Ohio State star CJ Stroud, and then there’s the Arizona Cardinals at No. 3.

The Cardinals could trade out of that spot, with Kyler Murray as their long-term quarterback.

If Arizona does make a trade, it’ll likely be to a quarterback-needy team, who could go with Levis or Richardson, leaving the Colts in a tough position if they want the Kentucky star.
