The Los Angeles Dodgers have a special player in Mookie Betts.
He was acquired by the team in the spring of 2020 from the Boston Red Sox in one of the most lopsided trades in recent MLB history.
Betts is a two-time World Series champion, a six-time All-Star, a six-time Gold Glove Award winner, a five-time Silver Slugger, and a batting champion.
But there are a lot of reasons as to why he is such a special player.
On MLB Network, former player Mark DeRosa broke down Betts’ skillset and discussed what makes him such an entertaining and exciting player to watch.

DeRosa first talked about Betts’ versatility.
He is a player who can play all three outfield positions, but also second base.
The 30-year-old Nashville native played a little second base on Monday against the San Francisco Giants, as well as in the World Baseball Classic.
DeRosa also talked about how Betts truly is a five-tool player and possesses all the necessary skills to be able to win Gold Gloves at multiple positions and even steal 40 bases.
He then proceeded to tell a story about a game against Cuba during the Classic when Betts said his legs were tired and he wanted to try something different.
Betts proposed switching positions with Jeff McNeil.
DeRosa said that he would leave it to Betts to ask McNeil for the favor.
The Mets star forced, and Betts took some reps at second.
Betts’ versatility makes him a special player and one that is truly exciting to watch.
