On Sunday, Bryson Stott etched his name in the history books for the Philadelphia Phillies with his leadoff home run against the Cincinnati Reds.
That home run led him to tie a Phillies franchise record for the longest hit streak to begin a season.
Stott has hit safely in 16 straight games.
The young infielder shifted to second base after the Phillies signed Trea Turner, but has made some key improvements at the plate over the past year, even picking up some key hits in the postseason.
On MLB Network, former MLB star Mark DeRosa broke down Stott’s success and discussed the adjustments he has made over the past year.

Stott has the fourth-highest batting average in the entire league, hitting at a .380 clip.
DeRosa pointed out some key differences in Stott’s stance from last year to this year.
In 2022, Stott had a bit of a wider stance and was more crouched at the plate.
His hands were also very close to his eye level.
However this year, the young Phillies infielder has dropped his hands slightly, is less crouched, and has also made his stance a little bit more compact.
So far, his adjustments have clearly paid dividends, as DeRosa pointed out.
DeRosa even went as far as to say that Stott seems a little bit more relaxed in the batter’s box and reminded fans that he struggled with elevated fastballs in 2022.
This is something that he appears to have corrected in 2023, which seems to be paying off as he remains hot at the plate and continues to hit.
