Chicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson was forced to leave Monday’s game after injuring his knee on a rundown.
The entire fan base held its breath until an update came.
Knee injuries can knock a player out for an entire season, as we have already seen many times.
On Tuesday, the team announced that it won’t be the case, though.
The talented infielder was diagnosed with a left knee sprain.
James Fegan of The Athletic says he will miss between two and four weeks while he recovers.
White Sox say Tim Anderson will miss 2-4 weeks with a sprained left knee.
Lenyn Sosa has been officially called up.

Losing Anderson potentially for a month is an extremely painful scenario for a White Sox team that was already weak in the middle infield.
However, all things considered, it could have been much, much worse.
Fans know it.
Sooo much better than expected.

TA is out with an MCL sprain but I think this is a precautionary 2-3 weeks.
I’d rather see Tim miss time here then in September

Still, there is no denying that the entire White Sox fan base is disappointed to see one of their star players down for at least a few weeks.

Anderson is the spark plug of the White Sox’s lineup, the one that sets the tone.
Few players in the majors have the kind of contact ability he has, and although he doesn’t have major power, he is not a zero in the category.
Some have called Anderson overrated, but facts are facts:
For those filling up my timeline with “Tim Anderson’s presence is overrated”, here are the numbers:
Since 2020 –#WhiteSox WITH Tim Anderson: 150-112
WITHOUT Tim Anderson:

The South Siders are, plain and simple, a better team when Anderson is at the top of the lineup and playing shortstop.
For the season, he is hitting .298 with nine runs, no homers, four RBI, and five stolen bases.
He is sporting a .731 OPS.
The hope is that he is ready to go by early May.
