Over the past decade or so, one of the most popular conversations in professional sports is which player is the greatest of all time.
In the NBA, many believe that player to Michael Jordan, and some people are starting to make a strong case for LeBron James.
The NFL is different, however, as there are many different positions on both sides of the football, which can change the debate to positions rather than overall.
One position that has gotten interesting over the past few years is tight end, with many talented players emerging, like Darren Waller, George Kittle and Travis Kelce.
Although an argument can be made for Tony Gonzalez or Rob Gronkowski, Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe believes Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs is the best ever to play the position.
“I don’t know how you make an argument that Trav isn’t the greatest Tight End”

What’s powerful about saying he is the greatest ever is that it’s coming from Shannon Sharpe, who’s a HOF TE and played for a bitter rival, Denver. You can’t get a better endorsement than that.

Kelce added to his legacy by winning a Super Bowl title for the second time in his NFL career, with him and Patrick Mahomes becoming one of the best tight end-quarterback combinations the league has ever seen.
At 33 years old, Kelce is coming off arguably his best season yet, with the perennial Pro Bowler catching a career-high 110 receptions for 1,338 yards and 12 touchdowns.
At this point, Kelce will no doubt be a first-ballot Hall of Famer, with a resume that will easily put him in the conversation for being the greatest tight end in NFL history.
The incredible part of this is that he’s still going strong with no signs of slowing down, which bodes well for him, putting up some remarkable numbers that may never be matched.
