Facundo Campazzo is finalizing his return to Europe. After failing to forge his adventure in Dallas, the Argentine player seems to have shelved his American journey and could soon head to European soil, more precisely to Belgrade to play for Red Star.
As reported by Aris Barkas of eurohoops.net, the Serbian team would have offered Campazzo a contract for three seasons, the third of which is subject to a player option. To be exact, in the campaign that has already started he would receive 1.8 million euros, while in 2023-24 his salary would amount to 2.5 million. In addition, the team would have agreed to cover a significant part of the money that the point guard still owes Real Madrid as part of the 2020 deal that allowed him to go to the NBA.
Although he aims to be a good option for the 31-year-old player, the reality is that Madrid still owns the Euroleague rights to him, so he has 10 days (from Tuesday, December 6) to match the offer received by Campazzo. and retain it.
Whether it ends up in one destination or another, what is undeniable is that it will be a very good reinforcement for any team from the old continent. Although in the current campaign he has not shone with only eight games with the Mavericks playing residual minutes, his qualities are perfect to shine again in Europe, where he already won the Euroleagues in 2015 and 2018.
