Lamar Jackson’s contract dispute with the Baltimore Ravens has been one of the most discussed stories of the 2023 NFL offseason.
Due to the two parties being unable to agree to a contract extension, Jackson was franchise-tagged by the Ravens.
He was franchise-tagged in early March.
Recently, Jackson has come out and declared that he requested a trade from the Ravens before the franchise tag was placed on him.
Jackson has also recently commented on his playing status last season, as many have doubted the legitimacy of his injuries.
“How come all of a sudden I sit out because of money in which I could’ve gotten hurt at any time within that time frame,” he recently said.

He then doubled down on his commitment to the Ravens, saying “the Super Bowl has been on my mind since April 2018.”
Many fans have responded to Jackson’s latest comments, pleading their full support for him.

April of 2018 was when Jackson was drafted by the Ravens, and he won the league MVP one year later, after his performance during the 2019 season.
One fan has liked this situation to that of Allen Iverson of the NBA, and the turmoil that he went through.
Lamar is the NFL version of Allen Iverson. Put respect on that dudes game!

While the Ravens made the playoffs last season, they were eliminated during Wild Card Weekend.
Many have continued to criticize Jackson for not playing in that game, even though he wasn’t medically cleared to do so.
He didn’t go to the game. Be a leader regardless of the situation. He deserves to get paid, but it was a bad look.

There are some fans that are frustrated with his antics, especially since he didn’t show up to the Ravens’ playoff game.
He didn’t even show up to the game to support his team for the wild card game. Had he been there this narrative wouldn’t be happening.

Due to Jackson’s most recent comments, it appears that he is fed up with this whole situation, and is ready to move forward.
