The Chicago White Sox’s Eloy Jimenez has been in MLB for four years, from 2019 to 2022.

In three of those four seasons, he has missed significant playing time due to injuries.

Some of them have been fluky injuries that can happen to anyone, but conditioning and recovery time have been an issue in the past.

During the 2022-23 offseason, however, the talented slugger was determined to make a change and achieved excellent results.

“A slimmed down Eloy Jiménez says he lost 25-30 pounds this off-season and his body feels great. No more red meat in his diet was the toughest thing to cut out,” sports anchor and reporter Josh Frydman tweeted.

Lots of players love red meat and they are a very important part of their diet, but they do have undesired side effects if eaten in excess.

It will depend on each body, of course, but if Jimenez found a perfect replacement for red meat in his diet, then good for him.

Everything that helps him stay fit, healthy, and in better shape should be good news for White Sox fans.

Chicago had an extremely disappointing 2022 season, with a mediocre 81-81 record when they were expected to run away with the AL Central.

Instead, they finished 11 games behind the division winners, the Cleveland Guardians.

Jimenez was limited to 84 games, but did perform at a high level.

He hit .295/.358/.500 with 16 home runs and a 144 wRC+ (44 percent better than the league average hitter).

If he goes through a whole season healthy and unscathed, Jimenez has the potential to hit 30 home runs and finish with a .300 batting average.

He is that good.

All he needs is at least 145 games.
