The Miami Dolphins faced a tumultuous season in 2022, given the number of injuries sustained by their team.
As they look to 2023, the Dolphins have several things to prove, both to their fans and to themselves, given their early playoff exit.
Xavien Howard is one of the Dolphins’ top defenders, who has recently commented on his performance in 2022.
“My expectations, I feel like it wasn’t Pro Bowl caliber,” said Howard.
Even though Howard made the Pro Bowl last year, he experienced doubt from many fans, which he also discussed.
“Seeing people say I’m washed,” said Howard, “It’s nothing new.”

It appears that these comments only motivate Howard, who will look to improve upon his 2022 season.
While the Dolphins have several star players on their defense, they weren’t necessarily able to come together, as they allowed over 24 points per game in 2022.
However, the team has recently added Jalen Ramsey, who, alongside Howard, should be able to impact their defense in a big way.
Having elite cornerbacks is necessary for the NFL, given the number of passes that are thrown throughout the season.
Now that Ramsey and Howard are on the same team, they should be lethal one-two punches against opposing receivers.
How will the Dolphins fare in 2023, given the newest additions to their roster?
If Tua Tagovailoa returns to the team and is fully healthy, they could pick up right where they left off.
In his second year as head coach, Mike McDaniel will be given another opportunity to work with this talented roster, with a deep playoff run in mind.
