You can’t price-match two items that look and operate the same but come from different brands.
The items also need to be the same size.
You can’t price-match two items that come from the same brand and are essentially the same if one is bigger or smaller than the other.
Weight is another factor that needs to be identical.
If for whatever reason one item weighs more than the other, then you can’t receive a price match on it.
The color also needs to be the same.
You also can’t price match an item if you have two of them and you’re looking to price match for a single item.
For example, if you buy two mixers, then you can’t price match a single mixer even if it’s exactly the same mixer.
You’d need to price-match two mixers.
Finally, the item needs to have the same model number as the other item.
If the two model numbers are the same, then that means the items are identical.
3. Item Is In Stock At A Competing Store
The item that you want to price match must also be in stock at the other store.
You can’t price-match an item that is not in stock.
The stocked item must also have a lower price on it at the time that you ask for a price match.
If the price changes before you’re able to price match it, then you cannot receive the price match.
You can also bring an ad to Target that shows the lowest price of the item that you want to price match.
What Retailers Does Target Price Match?
Target doesn’t price match from just any store.
It has a few select stores that does price match against.
There are also some exclusions and restrictions to the stores even if they do price match with them.

If you find an identical item at any of those stores that is currently in stock at a lower price, then Target will potentially price match it.
In most cases, Target will price match provided you aren’t trying to price match a third-party retailer.
Can You Use Coupons Or Discounts With Target’s Price Match Policy?
No, you cannot use Target’s price match service with items that you bought with a coupon or that were on a discount.
This is one of the exclusions that the policy states.
Essentially, if an item is on clearance, closeout, or undergoing a liquidation sale, then it does not qualify for a price match.
That also extends to items that have had a percentage or a certain amount discounted off their original price.

Target Circle products and services are also not eligible for price match.
