After a bit of a rough stretch, the Los Angeles Dodgers appear to be finding their footing again.
They have now won three consecutive games and are in possession of the second Wild Card spot in the National League.
Los Angeles defeated their hated rivals in the Houston Astros by a final score of 3-2 and improved to 42-33 on the season.
Leading the way for the Dodgers was rookie right-hander Emmet Sheehan, who delivered six strong innings against the defending World Series champions and held them to two runs on three hits while allowing just two walks and striking out four batters.
Sheehan even earned his first career win.
On Twitter, the Dodgers congratulated Sheehan on his accomplishment and posted a graphic featuring his line from Friday’s game.

This was just the second start made by Sheehan in his career.
He made his debut last week against the San Francisco Giants and delivered six scoreless innings.
That effort went for naught as the Dodgers collapsed late, but this time, Sheehan was rewarded for his efforts with his first career win.
The 23-year-old New York native had a tall task in his hands when he took the mound against the powerful Astros, who have stars such as Jose Altuve, Jeremy Pena, Kyle Tucker, and Alex Bregman in their lineup.
The Dodgers scored two runs early and went back ahead in the bottom of the fourth after the right-hander allowed two home runs.
In the end, Sheehan spun a gem for the Dodgers and helped them stay in the win column.
