In five NFL seasons with the Carolina Panthers, wide receiver DJ Moore has been one of the most productive players at his position, but he has had to deal with plenty of losing, as he has played for a Panthers team that hasn’t made the playoffs during that span.
Looking to change their fortunes, they made a huge move on Friday by trading him and four draft picks to the Chicago Bears for the top pick in next month’s draft.
Moore had a strong reaction on his Twitter account once he learned of the move.

Moore had 888 yards and seven touchdowns in 2022 for the 7-10 Panthers, and in each of the prior three campaigns, he put up at least 1,200 total yards from scrimmage, making him the only NFL wideout to do so during that span.
However, he never had a reliable quarterback to get him the ball, with the possible exception of Cam Newton during his rookie season in 2018, which makes what he did from 2019 to 2021 all the more impressive.
Now Moore will be teaming up with Justin Fields in the Windy City, and Bears fans are hoping he will help the Ohio State University product improve his passing productivity.
Fields has only completed 59.7 percent of his pass attempts in two pro seasons while throwing 21 interceptions and recording 28 fumbles.
His supporters point out Chicago’s lack of a bona fide threat at wideout and the team’s substandard offensive line as the reasons he hasn’t panned out yet.
Now, Fields will have the opportunity to justify the Bears continuing to go with him as their franchise QB.
