The Arizona Diamondbacks may be a team worth paying attention to this season.

With the emergence of young stars such as Corbin Carroll and the key additions of players such as former American League Rookie of the Year Kyle Lewis, Lourdes Gurriel Jr., Evan Longoria, and Gabriel Moreno, there may be hope out in the desert.

Diamondbacks manager Torey Lovullo certainly believes that there are reasons to be excited about the team heading into the 2023 season.

Late on Monday, Lovullo stopped by High Heat with Christopher Russo to discuss his excitement for the upcoming season and his expectations for a team that is loaded with young talent.

Lovullo began by expressing his excitement for all of the events that will be taking place soon in the City of Phoenix, including the Super Bowl, which will happen this coming Sunday.

The former National League Manager of the Year talked about what it would mean for the city if the Diamondbacks can join in the fun.

The Phoenix Suns of the NBA are still a top team in the Western Conference and continue to win, and Lovullo expressed excitement for the future of not only the Diamondbacks, but the entire city if the team can start winning again.

Lovullo also discussed what it would take for the Diamondbacks to finally start winning games again and for fans to pack Chase Field as they had in 2017.

The D’Backs manager acknowledged that fans have waited a long time and recalled the team’s success in 2017, and stated that effort and preparation will be the key to playing good baseball in 2023.
