Scouting Notes
- Speed for days, feet are moving double-speed.
- Unstoppable on counters and outside runs. Gets outside in an instant.
- Very willing blocker, dropped his anchor and held his own many times, even at his size.
- Vision as a blocker is amazing.
- Not afraid of bodies, will lower the shoulder and churn his legs.
- Impossible to stop in a phone booth. Use quick feet and speed to get right around any defender.
- Amazing hands, multiple catches while being heavily contested.
- Plays way bigger than his size.
Short Summary
Devon Acane is a STUD. He is being extremely overlooked in this draft due to his size, despite his record-breaking track background. The size is a genuine concern, but he has everything else working in his favor.
Achane is a master at every skill and trait necessary for the position. He is dominant, and genuinely couldn’t be better in most aspects of the game. Despite injuring his foot from him this past season, missing 2 games, he came back and exploded for 38-215-2 against LSU. He displayed unreal contact balance in that game.
He is a big-play threat on every run, but he also has the ability to take what the defense gives him. His size of him is a concern, but he is enough of a positive outlier in everything else that he is worth the investment.
