Dante Exum returns to the NBA after two seasons away. He guard has signed a guaranteed deal with the Dallas Mavericks, he has told ESPN the player’s agent, Brandon Rosenthal.
The Australian was the fifth pick of the Utah Jazz in the 2014 Draft. After playing 82 games as a rookie, he missed the next edition thanks to an injury to his left knee. From that moment on, he saw his time on the track progressively decrease until 2019, when he was transferred to the Cleveland Cavaliers, a franchise with which he was until 2021 after playing just six games in that edition.
The point guard decided to go to Europe, where he wore the FC Barcelona shirt and recently that of Partizan Belgrade, the team with which he won the ABA league crown.
According to Tim MacMahon of ESPNExum was taken by the Jazz in the Draft thanks to the management of Dennis Lindsey, who is now a member of the Dallas front office. “Injuries complicated his time in Utah, but Exum is a good perimeter defender,” the journalist analyzed.
