The NFL world was rocked to its core last season when Buffalo Bills safety Damar Hamlin nearly died on the field during a game against the Cincinnati Bengals.
The situation was so profound that the NFL postponed and eventually canceled the rest of the game, which the league doesn’t do in the modern era with so much money on the line.
It was a game showcasing two title-contending teams, and the result would’ve had playoff implications in the AFC, but it didn’t matter as Hamlin’s health was more of a concern, and rightfully so.
Despite suffering a cardiac arrest on the field, Hamlin has bounced back in an incredible way as he’s been cleared to play football once again, which prompted him to take to Twitter to thank fans for all their support.
Thank you for being on this journey with me.. 💕

During the scary scene more than three months ago, it was thought that Hamlin was in serious danger of losing his life, let alone ever being able to play football in the NFL again.
With OTAs underway for teams around the league, Hamlin’s future looks much brighter as his dream to continue playing football is headed in the right direction.
Even though Hamlin has been cleared to resume his football career, it does come at a risk for the rest of his playing days as he’ll never want to go through an experience like that again, nor with the Bills or the NFL for that matter .
It’ll be interesting to see how things pan out for Hamlin moving forward and if he can put this behind him while helping the Bills strive for a Super Bowl title.
