For a while, the expectation has been that the Arizona Cardinals will trade wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins at some point this offseason.

If they do, there will surely be several teams vying for his services.

Micah Parsons, the outstanding pass rusher for the Dallas Cowboys, wants his team to pursue Hopkins, and he made that clear on Twitter.

Despite being suspended for the first six games of the 2022 season for violating the NFL’s performance-enhancing drugs policy, Hopkins was able to post 717 yards and three touchdowns in nine contests.

He has spent three seasons with Arizona, and in his first season there, he had 1,407 yards while being named to the Pro Bowl for a fourth consecutive time.

At age 30, he should still have plenty left in the tank, although he has a big contract that will mean a big cap hold for whichever team trades for him.

After they lost Amari Cooper last season, the Cowboys could use a legitimate No. 2 receiver next to CeeDee Lamb, who had a great 2022 season with 1,359 yards and nine touchdowns.

Dallas finished 14th in passing yards, and that is a category they should look to improve in if they want to reach the NFC Championship Game for the first time since the 1995 season, which was the last time the team won the Super Bowl.

Meanwhile, the Cardinals have a new head coach in Jonathan Gannon, who spent the previous two seasons as the Philadelphia Eagles’ defensive coordinator, and it will likely be a while before they become a legitimate contender.
